It was just there... Standing tall and proud... It was white... gleaming white... The light from the street lamp reflecting on its shiny exterior, making dark patterns on the top... There it was the curb... No one to call its own... Used and discarded... Wanted no more..
The holder of childhood stories and good times;of comfort and far away lands where only your mind can go; of lands on top of magical trees, circuses, pooh and his friends and talking trains; of cherished heirlooms and china ornaments; of crystal dolphins (the kind my mother loves); of shiny lamps, bathing the surrounding area with warm yellow light... there it was in all its glory...
Now it'll move on to its next family... adorning our home here and carrying our treasures... It will be loved again and cherished... filled with our knick knacks and paddy wags... a fresh start... ready to collect a new batch of memories... to live a new life..

May the shelf be blessed with lots of interesting reads.. and memories to go along with it.. and some nice ornaments and riff raff to go on top.. :)
It won't :( this morning it was gone when we came to the lounge... the cleaning people thought it was being thrown away and took it away...
We've been grieving its loss the whole day... :(
Mmmm I remember my first bookcase. Crammed to the brim with all sorts of random books. I hope your bookcase has a happy future :)
